Familiarity truly does breed contempt sometimes. Two pets share a living space as babies and then juveniles. As they reach adulthood they become territorial, each demanding the other submit. They battle to the death. People are sometimes similar in nature. We keep our enemies close because they need to be in proximity for us to fight with them. Foes from a far can’t do one another much harm but we can fight with our neighbor everyday. Contempt bred from familiarity, true animalistic behavior.
